Crisis in Focus

The crisis in Africa, Somalia to be specific, is becoming more desperate with the famine threatening thousands of lives. The United Nations has suggested warning us that the worst is yet to come.

The Islamic Foundation of Toronto has announced collection of donations to provide relief to the devastated region in terms of food and aid.

 

 

 

Foundation of Toronto has already sent $10,000 to Somalia and Northern Kenya towards immediate food and water supplies for the relief of the Horn of Africa refugees.

 

You will also be pleased and happy to know that Islamic Foundation has decided to establish a "Mobile Field Hospital" in Northern Kenya bordering Somalia. This field hospital will be established for six months. After initial six months operation if required this health care service will be extended for another six months. The mobile health unit will provide primary health care to the dwellers of Somalia Refugee Camps in the drought stricken area. Islamic Foundation will purchase required medical equipment, necessary medicines and will also hire medical doctors, nurses and medical staff to provide much needed health care to the women, the children, the sick and the victims of this calamity. Islamic Foundation personnel will carry on this project with the help of local hired staff Insha-Allah.

 

The project details are being worked upon and Insha-Allah will be implemented as soon as we finalize our agreement with medical staff in Kenya and also get final clearance from Kenyan authorities.

 

Finally, please note that Islamic Foundation has never charged any commission in the past and will never charge any commission for its future relief projects. We assure you that each and every penny that is donated by you is spent directly towards the relief of the affected victims of such global disasters.

As a matter of fact Islamic Foundation has sent members of its own Board of Directors and its own staff for such relief projects in Bangladesh, Guyana, Trinidad and in Pakistan thus subsidizing the cost to the donors.
