Haiti Disaster Relief Efforts
Islamic Foundation of Toronto (IFT) has always been there in the time of need to lend a helping hand to the victims of tragedy and adversity. With the help and blessings of Allah (swt) and your generous support, relief assistance was provided to the people and children of Gaza, Palestine, earthquake victims of Pakistan and South East Asia, victims of Tsunami in Indonesia and Sri Lanka and also to the people of Bangladesh, Guyana, China, Baluchistan and Swat, Pakistan and Australia in their time of need.
We are humbled and proud to inform you that immediate assistance has already been provided to the people of Haiti by providing food and water costing C$ 20,000. Students of Islamic Foundation School raised C$ 5,000 for the children of Haiti and also provided them with 1,000 pairs of shoes, which are already on the feet of these children.
As we are aware that many children have become orphans due to this earthquake. These children will not be getting the required help and assistance and they will be lost in the damaging and violent situation which is presently prevalent in Haiti.
It is an opportunity and responsibility of each one of us to help these innocent children who are in need of long term assistance. This will be a practical and purposeful effort.
Inshallah by the help Allah (swt) and your support, IFT will be building a state of art orphanage for children in Haiti and will be providing them long term assistance. This will include, shelter, food and education.
How you can help (Sadaqah Jariyah):
You are requested to sponsor child (ren) with just $ 30 a month contribution at least for the next 3 years. Your contribution of $ 30 a month will put a roof on this child, will be part of providing a healthy meal and also making him/her a better and brighter human being by providing righteous education. Imagine putting a SMILE on the face of these children in the time of a need, no value could be attached to it.
