The Prophet used to start everything from the right (for good things) whenever it was possible in all his affairs; for example: in washing, combing or wearing shoes. (Al-Bukhari 1.418)
Resources for Syrian Refugees in Transition
This page lists some key resources that may be useful for our Syrian brothers and sisters:
TD Canada Trust Bank
We are the local TD Canada Trust branch closest to your Mosque, being located at the major intersection of Finch Ave & McCowan Road, in the Woodside Square Mall. We offer convenient hours , open 8 to 8 Monday to Friday, Saturdays 8 to 4 and Sundays 11 to 4. We are a branch offering a range of language's, cultural diversity ,along with TD Canada Trust's New to Canada Banking Package, that will provide these families with a great start to Canadian Banking. We also wanted to let you be aware, that if you feel it better, we could also make arrangements to come to you and offer the opening of accounts offsite at your location.
Several officers monitor that email and one of them will contact you directly to schedule an intake interview and provide further instructions. Please contact them only after your BVOR family arrives.
Prescription Drugs OHIP cards and Federal Health Certificate Cards are the only documents required at the pharmacy to fill the prescriptions. There is an “Interim Federal Health Plan” that is covering the refugees through the Federal Health Certificate. The pharmacist is required to contact the Plan to confirm eligibility for the patient and also to confirm that the prescribed drug is on the list. So, there may be a slight wait while that is done.
If there are any issues, please contact Refugee HealthLine at 1-866-286-4770. It's main purpose is to connect refugees with healthcare individuals.
