School Board Member, Islamic Foundation School

 

NOTICE

APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD:

The Majlis is inviting applications for the following three volunteer positions in the School Board for the Full-Time School for a 2-year term.  Existing Board members may also apply.  The School Board is expected to hold a meeting at least once a month. The deadline for submitting the applications is July 31, 2018.

1) Elementary School Member 

  • Canadian University Degree-preferably in Education, OTC
  • 5 to 10 years’ teaching experience in elementary schools of Ontario
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies & procedures for the elementary school students and staff
  • Ensure that the curriculum, policies and operating requirements are in accordance with the Ontario Government requirements
  • Ability to handle and offer solutions to the elementary school children’s and teachers’ issues
  • Develop and implement human resources policies & procedures for the School Principal and staff, qualifications, student admissions, discipline
  • Plan and Facilitate Professional Development Trainings
  • Plan, Design and Facilitate workshops to integrate social responsibility, kindness, and Islamic values.
  • Arrange for professional development and Islamic knowledge workshops for elementary school teachers
  • Arrange for an annual audit of the academic performance of students and staff of an elementary school
  • Arrange for clean, safe and properly maintained elementary school premises

2) Middle School Member 

  • Canadian University Degree-preferably in Education, OTC
  • 5 to 10 years’ teaching experience in high schools of Ontario
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies & procedures for the high school students and staff
  • Ensure that the curriculum, policies and operating requirements are in accordance with the Ontario Government requirements
  • Ability to handle and offer solutions to the high school students’ and teachers’ issues
  • Develop and implement human resources policies & procedures for the School Principal and staff, qualifications, student admissions, discipline
  • Arrange for professional development and Islamic  knowledge for the high school teachers
  • Plan and Facilitate Professional Development Trainings
  • Plan, Design and Facilitate workshops to integrate social responsibility, kindness, and Islamic values.
  • Arrange for professional development and Islamic knowledge workshops for high school teachers
  • Arrange for an annual audit of the academic performance of students and staff of the high school
  • Arrange for clean, safe and properly maintained high school premises

3) Administration & Accounts Member

  • Degree in Business Administration and Management.
  • 5 to 10 years’ administration & management experience preferably in the education field in Ontario
  • Have expertise in budgeting, fee schedules, salary scales, staff benefits and building maintenance
  • Develop and implement human resources policies & procedures for the School Principal and staff.
