Refugee Assistance Program:

For exact final amount of the monthly income support will be confirmed by the RAP officer at the local IRCC office.

Please note that refugees sponsored under the BVOR Program only receive income support for food, shelter and transportation.
To contact the local office, please email this general inbox: CIC-NATS-GTA-CENTRAL@cic.gc.ca

Several officers monitor that email and one of them will contact you directly to schedule an intake interview and provide further instructions. Please contact them only after your BVOR family arrives.

Prescription Drugs

OHIP cards and Federal Health Certificate Cards are the only documents required at the pharmacy to fill the prescriptions. There is an “Interim Federal Health Plan” that is covering the refugees through the Federal Health Certificate. The pharmacist is required to contact the Plan to confirm eligibility for the patient and also to confirm that the prescribed drug is on the list. So, there may be a slight wait while that is done.

If there are any issues, please contact Refugee HealthLine at 1-866-286-4770. It's main purpose is to connect refugees with health care individuals.
