Qira'at Competition

Hifz, Naazira, and Qira'at
The Hifz, Naazira, and Qira'atul Qur'an Competition is an annual event held at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto.  The Competition was established to encourage youth to compete against each other in the categories of Hifz, Naazira, and Qira'at. The purpose of the Competition is to build and strengthen the relationship between Qur'an and the youth.

The Islamic Foundation of Toronto held the first Competition, the first of its kind in North America, in May of 2006 to encourage youth to compete against each other in the recitation of the Holy Qur'an.
With modest beginnings, the first competition had approximately 60 local competitors and judges. The subsequent years saw the Competition grow and allowed individuals from all over North America to compete. We added a Girls' Competition to allow young sisters to also compete in the recitation of the Qur'an.

In society, it is of vital importance that we strengthen the link between the youth and the Qur'an to increase the love for the Qur'an. The Qur'an is the guidebook for all mankind and adherence to its tenets will result is success in this life and the Hereafter.
